Sparkling fingers
My dearest son made an attempt to make his fingers sparkle I think.
Its a ritual, every Deepavali, we go over to Sri's house....(used to be jini's too, but she is over the seas now).
So Ummu, Annika, Me and Rayn went to Sri's house.
It was fun as usual....
How can it ever not be fun when we enjoy one another's company sooo much?
Sri was so sweet..she actually got soft toys for the kids as she remembered that their brithdays just passed...
So after dinner, we went out to play with the sparklers that Sri's nieces had brought.
Rayn is quite professional when it comes to sparklers.
We have let him play with it many times.
And he always knows that once the sparkles go off, he has to drop the hot stick.
But what happened yesterday reminded me that things dun always happen the way it has always happened.....
It was annika's first time and she really had a whale of a time!
So the 4 kids were playing....Then this lil boy of mine...
After the sparkles went off...he dropped it onto the floor.
I was standing right beside him..
I was just gonna praise him for doing the right thing...went he picks up the hot stick that he had just thrown onto the floor!
I got a shock of my life and screamed!
You know what, there was no reaction from him!
No cry nothing!
I rushed him to the kitchen and washed his hands under running water....
It was quite bad actually.
Two of his fingers had boils already.
Think if I did not scream to alert him, his skin would surely have peeled off.
Anyway...thank GOD it wasn't anything major.
Thanks Sri, for the great food and hospitality....
And Jinima, you are missed by us....

Its Friday!
Tomorrow is Anikka's birthday!
Wow two years!
It seems like just yesterday I saw Ummu being wheeled out from the delivery room.
She looked tired but still the same old strong Ummu I know...
All of us were so eager to see Anikka...
When I finally got to see her...I could not take my eyes off her..
Such an angel...
It really all seems like yesterday..
How time flies.
Soon it will be Rayn's turn...
Hmm ok let us back track.
Last Saturday, we went down to my cousin's house in JB.
I drove down!
Kinda proud of myself hehe.
Thankfully Fauzi uncle was there to lead me from the customs.
Let me tell you this...
The Malaysians are such skillful and gracious drivers!
For the half past six driving skills that Singaporeans have they are far too obnoxious
Please wake up...and stop looking at the ceiling so much that you trip over the rocks on the ground...
Singaporeans have a lot to learn from the Malaysians when it comes to road manners!
Ok that said....
We had soooo much fun there!
So did my sunshine!
He was sooo comfortable in their house...
He was fluttering around like a butterfly!
Haha...He is such a joy!
We played fire crackers!
Ya fire crackers!
And it was such a fun experience.
We even got to see mini fireworks.
Just had to light up a giant sparkler.
I thought it was just a giant sparkler..
But no! There were mini fireworks shooting out from it!
Wow...dun have any pictures of that cause I did not wana take my eyes of the beautiful sight.
Well..of course while we were having fun with the fire crackers...Noushad was there trying to do the impossible :- to teach jal how to cycle.
Haha...needless to say he failed...
Jal this is reverse psychology for you k.
I feel so blessed....
When I came back to school after the Hari Raya Holiday, I saw this on my table...

Thank you Santa.....I loved the neyi urundais!
Then after I made a din out of Taj giving only SN the cookies that she baked, the next day, I say this ziploc bag with yummy cookies....with a note 'Dun be angry with me'.
Hahaha
Then today...when I was gonna walk back to my cubicle after spending an hour under the hot sun for FUN club...SN walks past me and hands me a bottle of 100 plus! She bought it for me coz she saw me slogging under the hot sun..How thoughtful of her is that!
I love them to bits!
Looking forward to the weekend...Hope it is a great one...
Have a great weekend ya peeps...
Back to work for now!

Eid Mubarak to all Muslims out there..
Hope you guys had a blast..
For me was ok ok la.
It has not much of a meaning for me after mum left us..
Yesterday, the thoughts of mum slogging in the kitchen kept replaying in my mind...
I tried to recollect the taste of her fantastic prawn sambal...ox tail soup...chicken curry....beef sambal and dalcha that she cooks for Eid..
Wow....
I miss the eid that we used to celebrate with her around...
I really miss it...
Yesterday I felt kinda depressed thinking about how different things are now...
I mean we are one big happy family and we love one anothers' company...
But at times like this..when every other family seems to be celebrating it just like every other year....we feel it.
We feel the emptiness that she has presented us with before she left.
I mean what can ever beat waking up to the aroma of her cooking and that smile on that face?
Of course my lil sunshine brightens up our day
But when I see him I also wonder...how happy she would have been to celebrate with him...
I know how she yearned for a grandchild....
Its so cruel....
She is all that we had.....We dun even have grandparents and we are certainly not that close to relatives....
Why did she have to go so early? Why? Why?
Well maybe she is too good a soul to stay in this horrible world and God thought she deserved better....
I miss you ma...All of us miss you....
Well so I spent the day visiting my dad...
I love it when I bring him there...
Coz I can see the joy on each and everyone of their faces the moment he steps into the house...
Then they will start devouring him...
He is treated like the king there...
Unlike the way someone else treats him...
He is kinda invisible to someone else.....
I rounded off my celebration by going over to my dear Ummu's house....
Felt great to be there...
Ummu is such a great cook I tell you!
She cooked briyani with rendang, kichap mutton, sambal chicken and raita.
She also fried nuggets for greedy jal.
Ummu! U are my idol!
Will you take me as your disciple and impart just a teeny weeny bit of your culinary skill to me?
Really, I admire that woman for her cooking skill!
Here are some pics of the master cook and me..

Seriously dun trust this pic! It makes me look as slim as ummu and makes me look boobless!

Cool mamas

He hates taking pictures! Why ah! Goondusamy!

An extra in the picture

Meet Jazreel Anikka Nilofer..She is gonna grow up into one brainy beauty! Jal that is an alliteration!
Well that kinda sums up my day....
When I recall the day, I feel that it was a day well spent....with very loved ones.
Thank you God for that..
